Use the Parentified Child Script to Reach Clients Who Grew Up Too Fast

People who were forced to take on adult responsibilities as a child often experience psychological harm from the experience. It manifests in a variety of ways, often leading to unwanted feelings and behaviors that affect their quality of life as adults.

The Parentified Child Hypnosis Script from The Script Collection was put together to help clients address and manage the unwanted effects of parentificiation.

A pre-talk opens the script by giving a brief explanation of parentificaiton and the conditions under which it can occur. The explanation acknowledges that many positive traits often develop in parentified children, and that parentification can happen in circumstances beyond anyone's control.

The induction opens with embedded commands that guide the client towards a relaxed physical and mental state. The client's focus is trained to their breathing while flowing language creates a soothing rhythm that helps inspire calm feelings.

The client is led to think about their feet, taking note of their position and the space between them. They are encouraged to give their feet permission to rest, a concept that is anchored in the unconscious through the use of embedded commands. They are guided to send grateful praises to their feet for the years of service they've done.

The client is led through a similar procedure concerning their hands. A slow countdown moves them into a deep trance state.

Now, an embedded command instructs the client to "let go even more" as they are led to picture themselves soaring through the air on a bright, sunny day. From their vantage, they look down and notice a younger version of themselves who needs to be released from the excessive responsibility they've taken on.

The client takes notice of the facial expression and body language of their younger self, recalling the situations they are experiencing. The client is guided to fly down beside their younger self and pause time, which allows them to remove their younger self from the stresses they're enduring and reconnect with themselves.

Embedded commands direct the client to vow "be there" for their younger self through their present-day actions, allowing that child to grow up in a healthier way. Two embedded commands tell the client "you matter," anchoring the concept deep within their unconscious mind.

The client is asked to picture themselves in the upcoming days partaking in enjoyable activities as a gift to themselves and their younger self simultaneously.
