Individuals can experience difficult emotions when moving to a new town. These feelings can negatively color new experiences and prevent sufferers from forging new connections and feeling settled in their new homes.

The script's pre-talk frames the client's recent experience within the context of human history. The client is assured that people have spent thousands of years traveling great distances, putting down roots, and finding ways to thrive in new environments.

The client is reminded that their feelings of trepidation or anxiety are both natural and understandable. They are assured that the sessions will help them "naturally form a deeper connection" to their new locale, no matter whether they've recently moved or have been living in a new town for a while.

The client is reminded that, as animals, humans rely on their feelings and instincts rather than their rational minds. In the same way that pets can take up to a year to settle into a new home, people need time to feel safe and secure after a move. The client is reassured that the session will help them feel more at ease while they continue to explore their new hometowns with an open mind.

The induction begins with embedded commands that instruct the client to relax and breathe smoothly. The client is urged to think about the activity  that most allows them to naturally relax. Flowing language conjures ideas of relaxing sensations, such as "knots of tensions loosening" or the feeling of a hot shower. The client is urged to "breathe a sigh of relief."

The focus returns to the client's most relaxing activity. An embedded command directs them to "be supported" by this activity or sensation and to feel a connection to it in the same way they feel a connection with the ground beneath their feet.

The script expands the metaphor by urging the client to imagine themselves drawing energy up from the earth as if they had roots that penetrated deep underground. As they breathe deeply, the client is guided to broaden their attention to the space around them, imbuing with their own sense of relaxation.
