The client is assured that it's okay if their conscious mind drifts in and out during the session because their unconscious mind, the part that integrates everything they learned during sleep, will still hear the message. As they slip further toward trance state, the client is reminded to notice how much more comfortable with themselves they feel as they relax.

The trancework opens by asking the client to consider how many films, books, and TV shows focus on showing stories about the lives of regular people. They are reminded that every life is unique and therefore special. They are assured that their life has been filled with challenges that have been overcome, obstacles that have been triumphed, and real connections with other people.

The client is led to recall the feeling of rebellion, how they someone "may do something just to spite the rules." The client is encouraged to think of being themselves as an act of rebellion. Embedded commands anchor the concept within their unconscious mind.

Now, embedded commands direct the client to internalize messages of "deep and complete acceptance." The metaphor of the tree is brought up again, and the client is encouraged to allow themselves to exist like it does - "unselfconsciously in the forest."
