Get Reluctant Children Back in the Classroom with the School Refusal Hypnosis Script

While most children will feel negatively toward going to school at some point, repeated or adamant refusals to attend can create long-term consequences for children and parents alike.

The script employs a brief pre-talk that explains to the client that they will hear a "special kind of story" about a little girl who lived on an island. They are assured that, if they listen intently, they will feel like they're going on an adventure or having a dream.

The induction begins by asking the client to shut their eyes and imagine they are flying over an island. They are guided to notice the feeling of the air rushing around them and seeing the waves break over the rocks. Once over the island, the client notices a little girl running through the grass with a kite in tow.

Now, the process of the little girl drifting into sleep is described in detail. The client is reminded they know what it feels like to get ready to fall asleep. Embedded commands repeatedly urge them to "feel nice and sleepy." Another countdown is employed to bring the client deeper into a trance state.

The story about the little girl continues. Because she grew up on a peaceful island, the girl always felt that the mainland was "busy and loud." When she had to go to school, she finds discomfort with the busy world, full of "so many loud children" and the lack of freedom she experienced on her island home.

The client learns that one day the little girl told her father that she didn't want to go to school because of the cacophony and constant activity she found there. Both the girl's father and mother attempt to comfort her, but she still insists on not going.

The girl's father promises to take her to school the long way, past several landmarks, and tell her a story on the journey. She agrees to the plan and the pair set off for school.
