Downloads Unwrapped
'Downloads unwrapped' is an insight into the psychology behind this month's sessions.
We've got a diverse selection in May addressing many aspects of the human condition from the less than pleasing but for some compulsive habit of Nose Picking to Overcome Greed and MRI Scan Anxiety - a big problem for many.
But first, the new session Traders Mind explores the negative impact of over-emotionality on profits. The session distinguishes between the psychology of professional traders and that of gamblers. For the gamblers, the fear/greed cycle pushes them to make mistakes when trading. Professional traders operate according to strict rules from a quiet center which is why the Quiet Mind session is a useful adjunct to this session.
Cultivating inner quietness
Because life is so hectic, fast paced and ever changing, with messages from advertisers and other demands bombarding us all the time, we need to be able to access inner stillness. To be all we can be, which means acting, learning and remembering effectively, we need to cultivate the capacity to quieten our own minds. This helps us rest and recharge but also begin to discern from the mass of information what is truly valuable to us and worth focusing on.
Remember Peoples' Names is a case in point. So often we are in such a rush, or thinking too much about the impression we are making on other people that other peoples' names just skim off the surface of our minds.
Quietening the mind helps us absorb the name and lay it down into long term memory quickly. We can only recall the name if we've actually assigned it to memory in the first place.
New Audio Insight: This month's Audio Insight explodes some common myths about memory. You'll also learn about the role hypnosis naturally plays in memory formation and recall. We touch on the danger of false memory syndrome as well as describing how this can happen through influence from other people. Understanding memory and false memory syndrome will help you use yours to its best effect, and protect you against those who would misuse it.

"I got through it easily with an A on the speech and an A in the public speaking class"
"I was reluctant to download a hypnosis session because first of all I'm putting my credit card and money out there, and also I'm not really a believer in quick changes. I believe more in practicing to get your outcome and was not sure if it was going to work."
"Well I was in a public speaking class and I had to do an important speech that I was nervous about. I listened to the 'Public Speaking Confidence' download a couple times and I prepared my speech. So when I was in the visualization I was actually practicing my lines in there and I felt more relaxed about the whole thing. And so the day that I had to give my speech I felt more at ease, and when I actually went up there I knew exactly what to do and I got through it easily with an A on the speech and an A in the public speaking class."
