April 24, Issue 200
Did you know [First Name], that anger is the most brain-lateralized of all the emotions? That is, it is controlled more by one hemisphere - the left - than any other emotion. The left hemisphere specializes in language too. So is it any surprise that in our hyper-literal, word-driven culture, the left hemisphere is becoming dominant and anger and irritation is on the rise? Unsurprisingly, the left hemisphere is also terrible at discerning context. No surprise there. (For more on this, see Dr Iain McGilchrist's seminal work The Master and His Emissary.)
Stop Being Triggered is an antidote to the knee-jerk reactions encouraged by news headlines and social media. A calming encouragement to step back and see the wider picture and in doing so, perhaps lend society as a whole a helping hand.
Next this month we have Sleep Despite Noise. The brain is designed to become inured to things that are not important to it. And we can use hypnosis to engage this ability to help your clients sleep in less than perfect circumstances if they're having trouble doing so.
The final new title this month is Hypnotic Narcolepsy Treatment. Here we're aiming to provide hypnotic rest to relieve the pressure on the brain to sleep at inappropriate times.
And our upgrade for April is Handling Criticism, a popular older title. Fear of criticism can cause all sorts of self-defeating behaviors, and being able to let it slide is a powerful character strength.
And if there's nothing there that interests you, remember to check out the Top 5 scripts for this month below. It's fascinating to see how this changes month to month, to me anyway!
All the best,
Mark
