The client is assured that, despite the power of their condition, OCD can be beaten. They are reminded that hypnosis can help them get over their OCD about staring by teaching their brain to simply ignore their OCD tendencies, which robs them of power.

The script uses an extended induction to ready the client for hypnotic suggestion. It begins by urging the client to focus on their breathing and then employs a progressive relaxation to further prime the body and mind.

The client is asked to recall a time of deep relaxation, and guided to fully re-experience it. As they "relax all the way down," they are led to imagine relaxing energy as a color that flows through their body and mind, bringing them to a fully relaxed state of being.

As the trancework begins, the client is reminded of spam folders that catch misleading advertisements, phishing schemes, and misleading information. An embedded command anchors the concept of "tuning them out" deep within the client's unconscious mind.

The client is accrued that obsessive thoughts can "drift away" over the horizon until they become too small to see.
